Surely with the technology and platforms available now, there are direct, accurate and immediate ways we can gauge public opinion. Not just on daylight saving but any topic – the emissions trading scheme, internet filtering, the name of a new Vegemite or which fans want Barry Hall at their club. If I was in charge of making these decisions, I’d be taking advantage of as many tools which measure public sentiment as I can in order to cover my ass and make an informed decision.
