I have had to pass this ambush of dancing, blue wigged lunatics for 1800-GOT-JUNK over the last four mornings…

These were my reactions:
Day 1:  “That’s a cheap and tacky way to get attention for a brand. Credibility just went out the window.”
Day 2: “The chicken suit and wobbler board must be next. Which marketing guru came up with this tactic?”
Day 3: “I wonder if the idiots are still going to be there? Aah yep… there they are. Again.”
Day 4: “It’s sad but I can actually remember the name and the number …

I’m a Manchester United fan so this post is going to hurt. Firstly, congratulations to Barcelona for winning the Champions League final this morning. They were a class above. Ouch.

I have had the privilege of contributing to Julian Cole’s blog, Adspace Pioneers, while he is cruising through the USA Thelma & Louise style. Anyway, my post is about developing personality in your social media profile and it explains this photo…

Next time you take the rubbish out at work make sure you stop at the leaking wooden cellar door. Jar it open. Stoop down and pop your head in. Watch the cobwebs. See that gut in the far, dark corner with the hunched back and uncontrollable twitch who’s making intermittent yelping noises? That’s your scientist. Or in marketing terms, your research and developer. Go make friends with them. You might need them soon.
In the past, these guys haven’t received too much attention. They made stuff. People bought it. And they …
