Did you know that there were rules on how you could promote your Facebook page outside of Facebook? There’s a page dictating the rules of how you may do it from Facebook here. In summary…

Say: “Find us on Facebook to discover more about…”, “Company X on Facebook”, “Check out the Company X Page on Facebook”, “Find us on Facebook”

Say: Any slang or advertising jargon outside of the above quoted text. Also, never hyperlink the word ‘Facebook’

Need to approach their legal team anyway

    Not so social when your not in their book huh?

    Understand why they would want to protect their brand… But again facebook lawyers make another blunder. Nice find nath.

    Can understand the protection too. I bet in 99% of cases they would be happy for people to go out and splash around the connection to Facebook – they just have to be very careful for the 1%. Still, you think they could be less rigid when it comes to wording etc.
