n694212230_258995_3925This isn’t related to advertising or social media but I wanted to post it anyway. I just received this email (also a blog post) from a good mate of mine who has been living in Dubai for the last couple of years…

“Hi All!

after 3.5yrs of keeping the travel stories rolling out, im about to take off on one of my biggest adventure yet. Im still living in Dubai and thought i’d just email you all and make sure you haven’t forgotten about me yet! Here’s my travel website www.getjealous.com/samwhitcombe (put it in your favorites!)

Tomorrow (30th Oct 09) is the beginning of my 30 day backpacking trip with Chaz through virtually all of the Central American countries!

The travel plan is as rough as the road map i drew on the Central American map which i added to this blog!

Yesterday, i not only finished my current university subject but i also completed my entire Bachelor of Multimedia course!

The entire month was hell finishing off lame projects but its all been worth it cause i now have a month to enjoy an absolute adventure holiday with my girlfriend!

6642288The only negative, because all my time was dedicated to my study, i’ve had no time to plan a 30 day trip through 7 Central American countries so i cant tell you much except that we are starting in Panama City and then busing it North through Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize (maybe), and ending at Mexico City.

I leave Chaz in Mexico and fly to New York City to meet dad for Halloween on the 31st Oct and then competing in the 42km New York Marathon. This marathon should be an amazing experience as it is the 40th anniversary with predictions of the biggest volume of competitors ever! (Last year 38,000 people completed the race.)

After the NY Marathon, dad and i are heading North 7hrs to Lake Placid for 4 days hiking around the national park (maybe Mt. Phelps at 4,161ft if weather permits).

Not sure if i will be able to access the internet to update this blog but keep checkin it for the newest adventures!

Thanks for reading everyone!
Sam”

Sam constantly adjust my perspective and inspires me to look beyond the day to day. While I don’t have the free spirit he does, he shows me how much there is to do and to explore out there. Check out his blog to read about his experiences (clubbing in Kenya, surfing in California, elephant orphanages in Sri Lanka) and view his amazing photos. Inspiring stuff!

Ok. Now back to that pile of emails…
