7 Things You Don’t Know About Me

29 January 2009 4 Comments

Damn Wisey – she chain linked me and she chain linked me good. I’m normally averse to any type of chain mail scheme but I also cave easily to peer pressure. Given that I haven’t taken my advertising hat off on this blog, here are seven things you probably don’t know about me:

1. I’m colour blind and short sighted. Destined to be short and long sighted in about 20 years. I am screwed.

2. I drive a girl’s car. It’s a Renault Clio. She’s my bitch. This came about due to my previous car being an ’88 Camry which helped me develop my guns by making turns as easy as a 20kg bicep curl. I needed to get something small and light to give them a rest. The car is small but the guns remain huge.

3. I was destined to become an elite athlete. In 1996 I was crowned Junior Lawn Bowls Champion at Coolangatta Bowls Club. I won a push bike. The first time I rode the bike, I was standing up on it and one of the pedals snapped off which sent me falling straight down and slamming my children onto the crossbar. The next day I traded the bike in for a Nintendo64.

4.  I worked in a cinema for about three years. I saw heaps of free movies, ate way too much popcorn and caught heaps of teenagers half-naked on coke saturated cinema floors.

5. I was school captain in both primary and secondary school. I keep telling myself this is because I was ultra popular but more likely because I was an ultra nerd who put his hand up for the shit that no-one else could be bothered doing. And I like badges.

6. I’ve moved house nine times in nine years. I have a fairly strong disdain for real estate agents, bond payments and couch lifting in summer. And who said home ownership is over rated?

7. This is what the office I share looks like:

Now, I have to victimise seven other bloggers who must feel some sort of guilt strong enough to continue this on. On the upside, you get some link love – so I choose those who have been nice enough to contribute to my blog recently:

1. Matt Bowen of Why Not Y – Not only a great blogger but does awesome work with Chasing Rainbows Australia
2. Andrew Dever of andrewdever.com – Runs three totally different blogs and has a killer layout.
3. Daniel Oyston of The Oyster Project – General funny bugger and has a giant spoon to stir the giant pot.
4. Lucio Ribeiro of Marketingeasy – Fantastic Twitterer and always take note of his life observations as well as his marketing prowess.
5. Matt Moore of Innotecture – Does a mean slideshow and diagram to get his point across.
6. Brett Nicholson of DigitalOZ – Humanises digital happenings with insightful and humorous insights.
7. Zac Martin of Pigs Don’t Fly – I’m only asking for trouble when I ask Zac for things that we don’t already know about him…

Here are the rules…

  • Share seven facts about yourself in the post.
  • Link to your original tagger and list these rules in your post.
  • Tag seven people at the end of your post by leaving their names and the links to their blogs.
  • Let them know they’ve been tagged.

I’m leaving for the mountains tomorrow morning to hunt bears, chop fire wood and drink brandy (added value: unknown fact #8). Should be back mid-next week. And yes, I was too lazy to write covering posts to tide me over in between. Looking forward to finding out some hidden gems from my seven special peeps. Adios!

Not too keen on tags, but if I can think of seven interesting things I’ll knock it up. =P

@Matt- But that’s something you already know! And it’s only every second weekend I wrestle them.

@Zac- Just do it. It’s liberating. And less confronting than jumping through puddles naked.

@ Wisey – You have caused me extensive psychological damage. The bill is in the mail.
